Eckhart Nickel liest aus und spricht über „Punk“ (2/2)
„Wenn mich heute jemand fragt, würde ich sagen, ich habe es nicht gleich gemerkt, als MUSIK aus meinem Leben verschwand. Und das, obwohl sie immer eine zentrale Rolle darin gespielt hat. Vielleicht lag es auch daran, dass das Ganze eher langsam und nicht von einem Tag auf den anderen geschah, ansonsten wäre es mir ganz gewiss aufgefallen.“ In einer zukünftigen Welt, aus der tatsächlich jede Musik verschwunden ist, ebenso der Krach, die vermeintlich falschen Reden, in der alles zum öden „Safe Space“ heruntergedimmt wurde, schreien drei Durchgeknallte: Punk! Im gleichnamigen Post-Pop-Roman Eckhart Nickels wagt eine Musiker-WG den liebevollen Aufstand gegen ein Leben, das gefahrlos geworden ist. Eckhart Nickel, geboren 1966 in Frankfurt/M., studierte Kunstgeschichte und Literatur in Heidelberg und New York. Er gehörte zum popliterarischen Quintett Tristesse Royale (1999) und debütierte 2000 mit dem Erzählband „Was ich davon halte“. Nickel leitete mit Christian Kracht die Literaturzeitschrift „Der Freund“ in Kathmandu. Heute schreibt er u.a. für die FAS, die SZ und die ZEIT. Beim Ingeborg-Bachmann-Wettbewerb 2017 wurde er für den Beginn von „Hysteria“ mit dem Kelag-Preis ausgezeichnet und war auf der Longlist des Deutschen Buchpreises 2018. Sein hochgelobter neuer Roman „Spitzweg“ (2022) schaffte es direkt auf Platz 1 der SWR Bestenliste Juli/August 2022 sowie auf die Shortlist des Deutschen Buchpreises 2022.
